According to comments made by Kolbe to Canal+, “I believe the French lads are undoubtedly the favorites coming into the World Cup.”
He continued his remarks at the annual awards event for French rugby by saying, “Particularly with the World Cup being in France, it will be wonderful for them.”
The current world champions, Kolbe’s Springboks, are playing in Pool B, which also includes Ireland, Scotland, Tonga, and Romania.
Due to a fracture in his jaw, the Toulon three-quarter was forced to sit out his country’s most recent Rugby Championship.
Three years after winning the Webb Ellis trophy in Japan, he is scheduled to make his comeback in time for the November Tests that the Boks will be playing against Ireland, France, Italy, and England.

“It would be wonderful for the Springboks to preserve the trophy but France did incredibly well at the Six Nations,” he continued. “It would be excellent for the Springboks to keep the trophy.”
